Samsung’s next flagship family has started surfacing in the GSMA database, and the surprise entrant is a Galaxy S27 Pro model that looks positioned between the Plus and Ultra versions. The listing doesn’t reveal specs, but it does suggest Samsung is building a broader Galaxy S27 lineup than many expected, with the Pro version seemingly aimed at buyers who want Ultra-adjacent hardware without the full Ultra treatment.

That kind of split makes sense. Samsung has spent years stretching its flagship range upward with Ultra models while leaving a gap for users who want premium features without the biggest, most expensive phone in the family. A Pro badge would give the company a cleaner way to separate those tiers – and, conveniently, another model to sell.

Galaxy S27 model numbers in GSMA

According to the GSMA registry, the Galaxy S27 Plus is listed as SM-S956U, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra appears as SM-S958U. The ”U” suffix points to US versions. The newly spotted Galaxy S27 Pro carries SM-S957B/DS, where ”B” usually indicates a global variant and ”DS” means dual-SIM support.

That naming pattern is a pretty clear breadcrumb trail. Samsung has not said anything officially about the line, and there are no hardware details yet, but database entries like this are usually the first public sign that a launch cycle is moving from rumor to reality.

What the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to offer

Early information points to the Galaxy S27 Pro being a more compact alternative to the Ultra. It is expected to skip the S Pen, but still carry a top-tier camera and a Privacy Display. If that holds, Samsung could be aiming straight at buyers who like the Ultra formula but do not want the size, stylus baggage, or probable premium pricing that comes with it.

The awkward part is obvious: a Pro model can either sharpen Samsung’s lineup or make it look bloated. The company will need to make the differences between the S27, Plus, Pro, and Ultra easy to understand, because flagship naming systems only work when customers can tell which phone is actually worth the extra cash.

Samsung’s expanding flagship ladder

  • Galaxy S27: SM-S956U
  • Galaxy S27 Plus: SM-S957U
  • Galaxy S27 Pro: SM-S957B/DS
  • Galaxy S27 Ultra: SM-S958U

For now, the GSMA listing is less a reveal than a warning shot: Samsung is preparing something bigger than a simple S27 refresh. The real question is whether the Pro name becomes a useful middle ground or just another badge in an already crowded flagship drawer.
