Casio may be preparing a new mid-range G-Shock that does something the Mudman line has not done before: pair the familiar rugged shell with a memory-in-pixel display. The leaked GDG-B100 has surfaced in three colorways, and the ”MUDMAN” branding on the front makes the family tie pretty clear even before Casio says a word.
The rumored Casio GDG-B100 is also expected to arrive this summer, with pricing tipped between $200 and $250. That would place it in the mid-range of Casio’s G-Shock lineup, above basic models but below the brand’s more feature-packed premium options.
That screen choice is the real hook. MIP displays are already common in Casio’s more connected, fitness-friendly watches because they’re easier to read, can show denser data, and sip less power than older LCD panels. For a watch aimed at dirt, sweat, and bad lighting, that is the kind of upgrade that sounds boring until you actually use it.
A Mudman with a smarter display
The leaked images show the GDG-B100 in black, green-strap, and sand-strap versions, all with the chunky case and protective design language G-Shock uses for outdoor abuse. It looks like Casio is keeping the Mudman formula intact while modernizing the part people stare at most: the display.
If the leak is accurate, this would be a meaningful shift for the line. Casio has been steadily moving MIP screens across models that lean on training, tracking, and smartphone syncing, and the GDG-B100 appears to be the brand applying that same logic to a tougher, more traditional watch.
What the GDG-B100 is expected to include
Full specifications have not leaked, but the display layout points to a pretty familiar G-Shock feature set. Expect the usual practical stuff, plus the fitness features that help justify a higher position in the lineup.
