A new set of accessory mockups has given Apple’s first foldable iPhone its clearest look yet, and the shape suggests a very familiar Apple move: keep the design thin, the camera setup modest, and the price aggressively absurd. The device is still unofficial, but the leak trail now points to a handset that may launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro line and could be called iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra.

What the iFunSmart case reveals
Accessory maker iFunSmart has shown protective cases said to be for the first foldable iPhone, and that matters because case makers often get CAD-based dimensions months before launch so they can get ahead of the market. The design shown here keeps the body relatively slim and leaves room for only two rear cameras, matching earlier claims that Apple may skip a dedicated telephoto lens on its debut foldable.

iPhone Fold screen sizes and thickness
Current rumours point to a 5.3-inch to 5.5-inch outer display and a larger 7.7-inch to 7.8-inch internal folding panel. Apple is also said to be chasing a very thin chassis, with one estimate putting the unfolded thickness at about 4.5 mm. That would put it in the same category as the thinnest recent foldables from rivals such as Samsung and Honor, where every fraction of a millimetre becomes a bragging right.
Apple A20 Pro, Touch ID, and the rumored price
On the hardware side, the foldable is said to use the Apple A20 Pro chip, 12 GB of RAM, and dual 48-megapixel rear cameras. Some reports also claim Apple may bring back Touch ID via a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of Face ID, which would be a neat workaround for a device that has to juggle folding glass, camera placement, and internal space. The price is where this gets less playful: estimates put it at about $2000, which would make it one of Apple’s priciest mainstream products.
- Outer display: 5.3 inches to 5.5 inches
- Inner folding panel: 7.7 inches to 7.8 inches
- Thickness when unfolded: about 4.5 mm
- Chip: Apple A20 Pro
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Rear cameras: dual 48 MP
- Estimated price: about $2000
If these leaks hold up, Apple’s first foldable will not be trying to win on specs alone. It looks more like a cautious first shot: thin, expensive and intentionally under-specced in camera hardware so Apple can say it made a foldable, then improve the formula later when the rest of the industry has already done some of the expensive experimenting for it.
