Xiaomi has expanded its lineup of smart security cameras with the new Smart Camera C701 Pro, featuring a dual-camera system and 9x hybrid zoom. While the base C701 model is already available, Xiaomi has yet to reveal pricing or global availability details for the Pro version.
The standout feature is the dual-lens setup: an 8-megapixel main sensor paired with a secondary 5-megapixel camera that supports up to 9 times hybrid zoom. According to Xiaomi, this enables clear identification of distant objects, a capability uncommon in this price range.
Both sensors are housed in a spherical module capable of rotating and tilting up to 180 degrees. The camera employs AI-powered auto-tracking, eliminating the need for manual repositioning. An upgraded motor promises faster response times, making it easier to follow fast-moving objects such as pets.

The camera features a built-in microphone and speaker, enabling two-way audio. It can detect a baby’s cry, human presence, and unusual sounds like glass breaking using AI-based sound recognition. Gesture controls are also supported-for example, adjusting volume during video calls by waving your hand.
In terms of connectivity, the C701 Pro supports dual-band Wi-Fi but lacks a built-in battery, requiring a wired power connection. For local storage, the camera offers multiple options including microSD cards.
Compared to products from Western brands like Google Nest and Amazon Ring, Xiaomi’s Smart Camera C701 Pro combines strong zoom capabilities with advanced AI features at a potentially more affordable price. This may appeal to consumers seeking high-detail surveillance without a premium price tag.
With home security increasingly incorporating AI-driven detection and smart automation, Xiaomi’s Smart Camera C701 Pro aims to compete with more established international players. Announcements on pricing and wider availability will ultimately determine its competitiveness in global markets.
