Xiaomi has taken the Buds 6 out of China and into global markets, pitching the Xiaomi Buds 6 straight at the crowded mid-range earbuds segment. The UK price is £99.99, while Europe gets a €119.99 tag, which puts them in the awkwardly popular zone where buyers expect real features rather than marketing fluff.

The headline act is aptX Lossless support, plus active noise cancellation, up to 35 hours of total battery life with the case, and cross-platform features that Apple and Google users can both use without drama. That combination is smart in a market where earbuds often force you to choose between ecosystem convenience and decent audio hardware.

Xiaomi Buds 6 design and fit

The Buds 6 use a semi-in-ear design, so they sit in the ear without silicone tips. Xiaomi says it slimmed the stem by 12% and reduced the sound outlet by 11.3% to ease pressure, while each bud weighs 4.4 grams. The charging case comes in Graphite Black, Pearl White, Titan Gray, and Nebula Purple, which is a nicer naming effort than most product pages manage.

This design choice is the trade-off that defines the product. Semi-in-ear buds are usually more comfortable for longer sessions, but they also give up the airtight seal that makes deep bass and hardcore isolation easier.

aptX Lossless, ANC and tuning features

Inside, Xiaomi has fitted an 11mm triple-magnet dynamic driver with a 24k gold-plated diaphragm. Compatible devices can use Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless codec for transmission rates up to 2.1 Mbps at 24-bit/48kHz, and Xiaomi says it worked with the Harman Golden Ear Team on EQ tuning profiles.

The buds also include a three-microphone ANC setup that can handle wind speeds up to 12m/s during calls. Since there is no full seal, the noise cancellation is unlikely to erase the world; it should be better at dulling steady background noise than making a train carriage vanish.

Battery life, tracking and recording extras

Xiaomi rates the Buds 6 at up to six hours on a single charge and up to 35 hours including the case. The earbuds are IP54-rated, support multipoint Bluetooth for two devices at once, and work with both Apple’s Find My network and Google Find Hub.

There is also a slightly odd but genuinely useful recording feature: tap the case three times to start recording live conversations or calls, even with the lid closed. Xiaomi is bundling a three-month Spotify Premium trial for new subscribers, redeemable through the Xiaomi Earbuds app until August 2026.

That bundled trial is a familiar move, but the broader strategy is clearer: Xiaomi wants the Buds 6 to feel compatible with everything and apologetic to no one. The real question is whether buyers in this price bracket will prefer a semi-in-ear fit with premium codecs, or gravitate toward sealed rivals that promise stronger ANC and a more conventional sound.
