A new Xiaomi 18 Pro leak suggests the phone could pack dual 200-megapixel cameras, a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-series chipset, 100W wired and wireless charging, a larger battery, and a launch in September. Xiaomi’s next flagship wave may arrive with a familiar trick: a phone that sounds almost absurd on paper, then somehow still leaves room for an even more expensive model above it.
The alleged upgrades put the Pro model well ahead of the standard Xiaomi 18, which is also expected to get a 200-megapixel main camera but not the same camera stack. Xiaomi seems to be leaning harder into the same formula rivals have used for years: make the Pro feel like the real flagship, then reserve the wildest hardware for a bigger sibling that arrives later.
Xiaomi 18 Pro camera setup tipped
According to the Xiaomi 18 Pro leak, the phone may use a 200-megapixel SmartSens primary camera with LOFIC technology, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. That is a very loud spec sheet, even by flagship standards, and it suggests Xiaomi is trying to outgun the usual photo-heavy suspects rather than merely match them.
Earlier reports claimed the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max will all have triple rear cameras, with the Pro models getting dual 200-megapixel sensors. The standard model, by contrast, is said to stick with a single 200-megapixel camera, which makes the Pro’s camera advantage much clearer than Xiaomi’s naming scheme usually does.
Display, battery, and charging details
The phone is also said to keep Xiaomi’s ultra-clear display with ultra-narrow, symmetrical bezels, while security would be handled by an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. A previous report pointed to a battery of around 7,000mAh, and the latest leak says the device will support 100W wired and wireless charging. That combination is the kind of spec balance buyers actually care about: big battery, fast charging, no excuses.
- Chipset: 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-series flagship chipset
- Main camera: 200-megapixel SmartSens sensor with LOFIC
- Ultra-wide camera: 50-megapixel
- Telephoto camera: 200-megapixel periscope
- Battery: around 7,000mAh, previously reported
- Charging: 100W wired and wireless
Rear display and September timing
Other reports say the Xiaomi 18 Pro could retain the rear display, but with more AI-driven and versatile functions than before. The front display may also get a Samsung-like Privacy Display feature, which would be a smart way to make the secondary screen feel useful instead of gimmicky.
Both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are said to launch in September, while the Xiaomi 18 Ultra may arrive in December. If that timeline holds, Xiaomi is setting up a long launch cycle that keeps the series in the news for months, which is exactly how a premium phone maker wants to play the game.
What to watch before launch
The obvious question is whether Xiaomi can ship all this without turning the Pro into a battery of compromises disguised as a phone. The leak points to serious hardware, but the real test will be how much of it survives launch-day trimming – and whether the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max ends up stealing the spotlight with the parts everyone really wants.
