Nothing has confirmed that its first ”b” series phone will be called Phone (4b), and the company will introduce the Nothing Phone (4b) on 7 July in India and global markets. The announcement arrived through Nothing’s social channels and a Flipkart microsite, along with a revised design sketch that hints the budget-minded line may still get a little of the brand’s trademark visual theatre.

The new teaser complicates the earlier one-camera read. Instead of a lone lens, the image suggests a vertical, capsule-shaped camera module set inside a rectangular housing, with room for more than one sensor. A separate circular cutout sits beside it, likely for the flash and autofocus hardware.

What the Nothing Phone (4b) sketch suggests

Nothing also shows a horizontal strip across the camera block, echoing the lighting element seen on the Nothing Phone (4a). Whether that strip is an actual light or just decoration is still unclear, and that ambiguity feels very on-brand for a company that likes to let speculation do some of the marketing.

For Nothing, the timing makes sense. July launches give the company a clean runway before the next wave of midrange Android phones starts crowding shelves, and a distinctive design sketch is cheaper than a full spec dump. The bigger question is whether Phone (4b) will offer more than looks, because in this price tier flashy industrial design only gets you so far.

Nothing Phone (4b) launch details

  • Announcement date: 7 July
  • Launch markets: India and global markets
  • Confirmed name: Nothing Phone (4b)

The company has not yet spelled out the hardware, pricing, or availability beyond the launch timing. That leaves room for the usual pre-release guessing game, but it also means Nothing is still selling the idea of the phone before it has to sell the phone itself.
