Huawei’s Nova 16 series has surfaced in its first live photo ahead of the official launch, giving the clearest look yet at Huawei’s next midrange phone and undercutting some of the polished render-based hype. The image shows a device from the new lineup, but it is still unclear whether it is the standard Nova 16, the Nova 16 Pro, or the Nova 16 Pro Max.
The timing is the real tell. The Nova 16 lineup is expected to debut on 1 June, with the promo push said to begin next week, which means Huawei has very little runway left to keep the design under wraps. That kind of leak usually means either supply-chain chatter is getting louder or the brand is already too far along to change course without making a mess of the schedule.

From the photo, Huawei appears to be sticking close to the Nova 15 playbook. The phone has a rectangular camera island with two large black circular modules, while the rear panel uses a blue-to-purple gradient that continues around the camera frame as well.
That also suggests the company may be testing more than one finish, because the leaked phone does not exactly match earlier renders. Another possibility is that this is a special Nova Anniversary Edition, which would give Huawei a neat excuse to sell a familiar design with a slightly louder paint job.
