Amazfit’s new Balance Ultra is going after the outdoors crowd with the usual premium-watch flex: titanium, sapphire glass, bright AMOLED, serious GPS, and a battery claim that could make a lot of wearables look lazy. It is pitched as a rugged fitness watch for athletes and hikers, and the main selling point is simple: fewer charging breaks, more tracking.

The Amazfit Balance Ultra pairs a Grade 5 titanium alloy case with sapphire crystal protection, measures 44.8mm x 44.8mm, and weighs 57g without the strap. There are Black and Black-Brown color options, and the front is dominated by a 1.5-inch AMOLED panel with 480 × 480 resolution and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. That brightness figure is doing a lot of work here; outdoor watches live or die on sunlight readability, and this one is clearly built to avoid the usual squinting contest.

Amazfit Balance Ultra battery life and rugged build

Inside sits a 780mAh battery, which Amazfit says is good for up to 30 days of typical use or up to 15 days with heavy usage. GPS endurance is also part of the pitch: the company claims up to 50 hours in precision mode, with power-saving modes extending that further. The watch is rated 10 ATM and has been tested against impacts, vibration, temperature shocks, and extreme weather conditions.

That places the Balance Ultra in a familiar premium-sports segment where Garmin and Coros have been making the most noise, while Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch models tend to trade battery life for broader smartwatch features. Amazfit is betting that endurance plus durability is the more convincing formula for people who actually leave the pavement.

Health tracking and training tools

The health package covers 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, skin temperature, stress monitoring, sleep analysis, and women’s health tracking. It can also warn about abnormal heart rates, low oxygen levels, and high stress, which is useful if your body decides to file a complaint mid-workout.

  • More than 180 sports modes
  • Built-in GPS with dual-band support
  • Six satellite positioning systems
  • Offline maps and route navigation
  • HYROX training support and post-race analysis tools

Zepp OS 6, storage, and price

Balance Ultra runs Zepp OS 6 and includes 64GB of internal storage, plus support for Strava, TrainingPeaks, Komoot, adidas Running, and Intervals.icu. Amazfit also added a built-in LED flashlight with white, red, and SOS modes, which is exactly the sort of feature you ignore until the trail goes dark and suddenly it feels genius.

In China, the watch is priced at 4,299 yuan and is available through JD.com. Global pricing is listed at approximately $600, putting it firmly in premium territory. The interesting question is whether Amazfit can keep leaning into this higher-end, outdoors-first identity without losing the value edge that made the brand stand out in the first place.
