Samsung’s next flagship family looks bigger than expected. A GSMA IMEI database listing has surfaced for the Galaxy S27 Pro, and together with the base Galaxy S27’s earlier certification, it points to a four-model Galaxy S27 lineup: Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The interesting part is not just the name. Samsung has used ”Pro” on plenty of devices before, but this would be the first time it slots into the main Galaxy S series, wedged between the Plus and Ultra. That is classic Samsung segmentation: give buyers one more rung to climb, then see who bites.

The database entries show three unreleased devices: SM-S956U for the Galaxy S27 Plus, SM-S957B/DS for the Galaxy S27 Pro, and SM-S958U for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The base Galaxy S27 had already appeared in certification earlier this month, which is why the four-phone theory now looks much less like wishful thinking and much more like Samsung doing Samsung things.

There is also a lingering possibility of a Galaxy S27 FE later in 2027, which would stretch the family even further. If that happens, Samsung will have turned one flagship line into a small civil service.

Expected Galaxy S27 Pro specs

The rumored Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up as a spec-heavy middle child. Expected hardware includes a 6.47-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display, no S Pen support, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to be 12MP.

  • Display: 6.47-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x
  • Main camera: 200MP
  • Ultra-wide camera: 50MP with autofocus
  • Telephoto camera: 50MP with 3.5x optical zoom
  • Front camera: 12MP

Inside, Samsung is reportedly lining up a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy chip, at least 12GB of RAM, 256GB of UFS 5.0 storage, a 5000mAh battery, and charging at 45W or faster. The S27 Pro is also said to get a hardware-level privacy screen, a feature that had previously been limited to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

If Samsung follows through, the Galaxy S27 Pro could be the sweet spot for people who want more than a Plus model without paying Ultra money. The catch, of course, is that Samsung still has to make the naming make sense to normal humans, which has never been its strongest hobby.
