OnePlus has set June 10 for the launch of its Turbo 6X line in China, and the Turbo 6X Pro is shaping up to be the kind of budget phone that makes pricier rivals sweat. The company says the Pro model will bring a Samsung 1.5K AMOLED display, an 8000 mAh battery, IP66/IP68/IP69 protection, and a starting price that has been linked to about 1000 yuan, or $147.

That combination is unusually aggressive for this price band. Big batteries are no longer rare, but 8000 mAh plus full water protection and fast charging is the sort of package that usually shows up a tier or two higher.

Turbo 6X Pro display and durability

OnePlus says the Turbo 6X Pro uses a Samsung AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, better visibility in sunlight, and DC dimming. The phone is also said to pass seven military-grade durability tests, which is a neat way of saying it is being sold as more than just a spec-sheet battery brick.

The protection story is even stronger: IP66, IP68, and IP69 are all listed. That is overkill for many buyers, but it is exactly the kind of overkill that sells phones in markets where dust, rain, and occasional bad judgment are part of daily life.

Turbo 6X Pro specs and colors

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7400 Super
  • Battery: 8000 mAh
  • Charging: 80 W
  • Memory options: 8/128, 8/256, 12/256 GB
  • Colors: orange and black

On the camera side, the Pro gets a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a rear setup built around a 50-megapixel main sensor plus an 8-megapixel secondary camera. For a phone expected to land around $147, that is a very punchy mix, especially since rivals at this price often cut corners harder on display quality, water resistance, or charging speed.

What the regular Turbo 6X brings

The standard Turbo 6X is clearly the cheaper sibling and not just a watered-down placeholder. It uses a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD screen, runs on Dimensity 7360, and carries a 7000 mAh battery. Its cameras include an 8-megapixel front camera and a dual rear system with 50 megapixels plus 2 megapixels.

OnePlus says the regular model will come in black, white, and green. The split between the two versions is straightforward: the Pro is the one built to grab headlines, while the base model is there to keep the starting price low enough to trigger the impulse-buy crowd.

OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro price target

If the reported about 1000-yuan price holds, the Turbo 6X Pro could become one of the more attention-grabbing midrange launches of the season. The real question is whether OnePlus can keep the rest of the experience from feeling like a compromise once the battery size and durability badges stop doing the talking.
