DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4 has turned up on Giztop, with the standard model listed at $639 and a Creator Combo offered for buyers who want more accessories and creator-friendly extras. It’s a familiar pitch for the pocket-camera category: shrink the gear, keep the image quality, and hope nobody notices you’re holding what looks like a glorified thumb drive.
The formula is working because compact vlogging cameras keep filling a gap smartphones still can’t close cleanly. A phone may be fine for quick clips, but DJI is betting that a dedicated 1-inch sensor, mechanical gimbal stabilization, and better audio control will still tempt travelers, solo creators, and anyone tired of shaky footage with overcooked processing.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 specs on Giztop
The headline hardware is straightforward: a 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, up to 4K recording at 240 frames per second, and 10-bit D-Log support. DJI also claims 14 stops of dynamic range, which should help hold detail in highlights and shadows when lighting gets messy – the sort of thing creators usually discover five minutes after the sun goes down.
- Sensor: 1-inch CMOS
- Aperture: f/2.0
- Video: up to 4K 240fps
- Dynamic range: 14 stops
- Color: 10-bit D-Log
Tracking, stabilization and storage are the real upgrade
DJI is leaning hard on ease of use here. ActiveTrack now supports subject tracking even with up to 4x zoom, while Intelligent Autofocus, Subject Lock Tracking, and Registered Subject Priority are all aimed at keeping the right person in frame without constant babysitting. The 3-axis mechanical gimbal remains the safety net, and that matters more than marketing poetry does.
Then there’s the part creators will appreciate after the shoot: 107GB of built-in storage and transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s. That removes one more excuse for forgetting a card, losing a card, or discovering that the card you did bring is mysteriously full of yesterday’s clips.
- Storage: 107GB built in
- Transfer speed: up to 800MB/s
- Stabilization: 3-axis mechanical gimbal
- Autofocus: Intelligent AF
- Tracking: ActiveTrack with 4x zoom support
Audio support and creator controls
Audio is another area where the Osmo Pocket 4 tries to behave like a serious tool rather than a toy. It supports OsmoAudio 4-channel recording through DJI Mic transmitters, so voice and ambient sound can be captured separately for editing later. Add 2x lossless zoom and a rotatable touchscreen, and you get a camera that is clearly built for fast framing, quick run-and-gun shooting, and fewer awkward menu dives.
The bigger question is not whether the specs look strong – they do – but whether a $639 compact camera can justify itself against a very capable phone and increasingly aggressive action-camera rivals. DJI has a habit of making this category feel more professional than it should, and that usually forces competitors to respond with better sensors, better stabilization, or lower prices. Expect exactly that kind of pressure again.
