Russian cosplay star Vera Andreeva, known as OICHI, has stepped into the spotlight as the official model for Eva from the action game Stellar Blade. This isn’t just fan cosplay – Vera’s involvement as the official character model highlights the quality and dedication behind the project.
Developed by South Korean studio Shift Up and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Stellar Blade launched on PlayStation 5 in April 2024, with a PC release following in June 2025. The game quickly became one of the most talked-about titles in recent years, praised not only for its fluid combat system but also for its layered storytelling.
Eva is a soldier in the 7th Airborne Unit of the Earth Defense Forces, sent to a post-apocalyptic Earth to eradicate the hostile creatures known as the Knights and reclaim the planet for humanity. But the mission takes a brutal turn when her team is ambushed upon arrival, leaving Eva the sole survivor. She survives thanks to a scavenger named Adam who leads her to Xion, the last surviving city on Earth.
Eva’s journey is built around the slow unraveling of everything she believes. As players progress, they discover that Eva and her unit aren’t human but andro-aedos-synthetic beings created by the Mother Sphere to replace humanity. Meanwhile, the Knights they fight are mutated humans who’ve evolved to survive. Stellar Blade flips the script on traditional sci-fi narratives, blurring the line between man and machine.
Shift Up used South Korean model Shin Jae-in’s body as the base for Eva, employing volumetric scanning technology to capture her exact figure. This blend of real-world modeling with digital design helps explain why Eva has become such a standout, iconic figure in the cosplay community.
By June 2025, Stellar Blade had sold over three million copies worldwide, and a sequel is already in development. Interest in Eva as a character continues to grow, and OICHI’s official collaboration puts her right at the heart of the rapidly expanding Stellar Blade franchise-complete with a fresh new costume that fans are already raving about.
