Oppo is set to unveil two new tablets in China on April 21: the Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini. While the Pad Mini targets the compact high-end segment, the Pad 5 Pro aims to replace last year’s Pad 4 Pro as the brand’s flagship tablet.

The company has already revealed the Pad 5 Pro’s design, showcasing it in three colors: Mocha Brown, Dawn Gold, and Monet Purple. The look sticks closely to its predecessor, featuring a distinctive oval camera module on the back. Oppo will offer four memory configurations ranging from 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage up to 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage.

Leaks suggest the Pad 5 Pro will sport a large 13.2-inch LCD screen, a notable increase over many current tablets that typically feature 11 or 12-inch displays. Powering the device is likely Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite, a chipset recently announced and designed to deliver flagship performance.

Battery capacity is rumored to be 13,380 mAh, coupled with 67W fast charging support-an upgrade from the 12,140 mAh battery of the previous model. Oppo also reportedly slimmed down the design to just 5.94 mm thick and kept weight around 672 grams, balancing a large display with portability.

One standout feature is the tablet’s rumored eight-speaker setup, which promises loud, immersive sound-an uncommon number even among premium tablets. Camera-wise, the Pad 5 Pro is expected to have a 13MP rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing camera.

While Oppo has yet to officially confirm full specs, the April 21 launch event will fill in the blanks. The Pad 5 Pro’s combination of a large screen, high-end Snapdragon chipset, and powerful audio system positions it as a strong competitor against models like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Apple’s iPad Pro.

Watch whether Oppo’s tablet can match or surpass the battery endurance and software polish of its competitors. The inclusion of eight speakers is intriguing-if executed well, it could set a new standard for multimedia experiences on Android tablets.
