Xiaomi has begun selling the Mijia Washing Machine Pro Pulsator 12kg in China, pitching it as a compact smart washer with a direct-drive motor, app control, and a starting price of 1099 yuan, or about $160. The recommended price is 1299 yuan, roughly $190, which puts it squarely in the budget-friendly camp for a 12kg machine that still leans hard on connected-home features.

The Mijia Washing Machine Pro Pulsator 12kg also includes Xiaomi Pengpai ecosystem support and Mijia app control. Xiaomi says the motor cuts friction and noise, while the machine claims water savings of up to 3.57%, a 12.9% drop in wash noise, an 8.3% reduction in spin noise, and 43.5% less fabric wear.

Xiaomi is selling convenience, not just capacity

The hygiene claims are the kind appliance makers love to splash across launch materials, and they are increasingly common in this segment. What makes Xiaomi’s pitch more aggressive is the mix of size, smart-home integration, and a low entry price; that combination is aimed at buyers who want a connected washer without paying premium-brand money for it.

For Xiaomi, this is also familiar territory. The company has spent years turning the Mijia name into a broad home-appliance platform, and washers like this one help lock users deeper into that ecosystem. The obvious question now is whether the real-world noise, efficiency, and cleaning gains match the headline-friendly percentages once the machine leaves the showroom floor.
