Vivo has quietly added a new low-cost 5G phone to its Y-series in China, and the pitch is familiar but effective: a big battery, a high-refresh display, and enough durability branding to make budget buyers feel less nervous. The Vivo Y60 pairs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip with a 6,500mAh battery, a 120Hz screen, and IP65 protection, while keeping the price low enough to stay in the crowded value tier.

That combination is not flashy, but it is practical. Xiaomi, Realme, and Honor have spent the last couple of years turning this segment into an arms race over battery size and display smoothness, because that is what most shoppers notice first. Vivo’s answer is to stack the familiar essentials and add drop and shock certification on top, which is the sort of thing that reads better on a spec sheet than a glossy promo video.

Vivo Y60 specs and features

The Y60 uses a 6.74-inch LCD panel with a waterdrop notch, 1600 x 720 resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and support for up to 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, paired with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

  • Display: 6.74-inch LCD, 1600 x 720, up to 120Hz
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
  • Memory and storage: 6GB or 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage
  • Battery: 6,500mAh with 15W charging and reverse charging
  • Cameras: 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera

Vivo also ships the phone with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, dual 5G SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, infrared remote control, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device measures 167.40 x 77.10 x 8.39mm and weighs 209 grams.

Vivo Y60 price and colors

The phone comes in Shanhaiqing Blue, Lucky Purple, and Obsidian Black. Pricing starts at 1,799 Yuan (~$265) for the 6GB + 128GB version, rises to 1,999 Yuan (~$300) for 6GB + 256GB, and tops out at 2,299 Yuan (~$340) for 8GB + 256GB.

Vivo says the handset also carries IP65 dust and water resistance plus SGS five-star drop and shock resistance certification. That makes it more convincing than many bargain 5G phones that lean hard on battery specs and quietly skip the rest. There is no word yet on global availability, which is exactly the sort of silence that usually means ”don’t hold your breath.”
