Ugreen has introduced a 25-watt magnetic wireless charger for iPhone, AirPods, and some Xiaomi and Samsung earbuds. It works with iPhone models from 12 to 17, and in China it costs about 139 yuan, or $20.
The new puck is slim at 10.3 mm and light at around 83 g, yet it ships with a 1.5 m braided cable and a stronger-than-usual magnet setup. Ugreen says the charger can take an iPhone 17 Pro Max to 50% in about 30 minutes, putting it in the same conversation as Apple’s own MagSafe gear and a growing crop of third-party Qi2 accessories.
25W charging and 8N magnetic force
At the center of the design is an N48H magnet with a reported holding force of up to 8N. That should make desk use and bedside charging less fiddly, especially if you have a habit of nudging your phone just enough to break alignment and ruin your optimism.
The charger also supports Apple’s charging animation on compatible versions of iOS, which is a small but telling detail. Accessory makers know that visual confirmation sells, even when the real differentiator is usually wattage, heat, and whether the thing disconnects when you breathe near it.
Thermal Guard aims to cut heat
Ugreen says its Thermal Guard system uses a layered structure of aluminum alloy, coil components, and magnetic elements to reduce heat buildup. The charger also shifts into low-power mode after the battery reaches 80%, a practical touch that should help limit unnecessary warmth during the slower top-off phase.
- Power: 25W
- Thickness: 10.3 mm
- Weight: about 83 g
- Cable: 1.5 m braided nylon
- Price in China: about 139 yuan, or $20
A low-cost accessory with a broad target list
The broader angle here is familiar: the magnetic charger market is getting crowded, and the winning products are increasingly the ones that mix Apple-friendly features with enough compatibility to catch everyone else, too. Ugreen is leaning into that formula hard, and at this price it is clearly aiming at the part of the market where a cleaner desk setup matters more than premium branding.
The unanswered question is whether the real-world thermal performance matches the pitch. If it does, Ugreen may have a very easy product to recommend; if it does not, the magnet strength and Apple animation will be nice extras, but nothing more than accessories to the accessory.
