Russian cosplayer Kristina Fink, known online as Kalinka Fox, teamed up with photographer Viktoria Romanova to create one of The Witcher 3’s most unusual cosplays: the succubus from Ard Skellige. Unlike the game’s iconic characters Triss, Yennefer, or Ciri, this succubus has no name-she’s defined by her cave full of flowers and a young druid apprentice she refuses to let go.

Who is the succubus from The Witcher 3?

In The Witcher lore, succubi aren’t malevolent demons from Christian mythology; rather, they’re complex beings with their own nature and moral code. Andrzej Sapkowski reimagined them as creatures who sustain themselves by drawing life energy through intimacy, but without intent to kill or attack uninvited targets.

The Witcher 3 features two succubi. The first, Salma, inhabits Novigrad and appears in the contract ”Deadly Pleasures.” Geralt discovers her after a string of city guard deaths near a brothel. Players can choose to kill or listen. If you listen, you learn the victims came to her willingly, fully aware of the risks.

The second succubus-the one Kalinka Fox brings to life-resides in a cave deep in the Morkvarg Forest on Ard Skellige. Unlike Salma, she doesn’t hunt humans. Instead, she collects flowers and decorates her cave, living quietly until the alchemist Gremist repeatedly sends apprentices to fetch a rare flower, the primula. None return intact except one-Ramund, who stays of his own choice.

When Geralt finally crosses paths with the succubus and Ramund together, the player can choose to side with her or let the druid attack. If you support the succubus, she’s surprised-used to witchers striking first and asking questions later.

Succubus design and gameplay in The Witcher 3

Visually, the succubi in The Witcher 3 are horned women with wings and long tails-a look borrowing traditional demonology yet leaning toward exoticism rather than horror. In combat, they’re speedy, use magical charm spells, and can induce hallucinations. These effects mimic the ”emptiness” survivors describe after encounters.

Killing a succubus drops a rare mutagen that boosts signs, one of the few such power-ups in The Witcher 3. This forces players to weigh the benefit of the upgrade against the moral ambiguity of slaying these complex beings.

The Witcher series outlook in 2026

CD Projekt RED is currently developing The Witcher 4, starring Ciri and built on Unreal Engine 5. The game won’t arrive before 2027, according to official announcements. Our site has previously showcased cosplays inspired by the upcoming title, including Ciri and Keira Metz, as well as Kalinka Fox’s other work such as Starlight from The Boys and Supergirl in latex. More cosplay content is available at itzine.ru/smthelse/cosplay.

While The Witcher 3 features more widely recognized characters, diving into less mainstream figures like the Ard Skellige succubus reveals the game’s rich worldbuilding and moral complexities. As CD Projekt advances its next chapter, expect deeper explorations of characters beyond the usual heroes, potentially giving cosplayers even more unique characters to bring to life.
