Oppo’s next camera flagship, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, has already slipped into the wild. Leak specialist Ice Universe says he has the phone in hand, and the live photos he posted are meant to back up a bold claim: this phone delivers the sharpest images among smartphones thanks to its 10x optical zoom.
That’s a nice headline for Oppo, but also a familiar one in the ultra-premium phone race. Xiaomi and Samsung have spent years pushing ever-longer zoom stacks, and Oppo clearly wants to answer with more hardware, more tuning, and a very obvious Hasselblad badge on the table.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera and zoom claims
The camera setup is the real showpiece here. Oppo is said to be fitting a 50-megapixel front camera and a rear system built around four sensors: 200, 50, 200, and 50 megapixels. The module reportedly includes Sony and OmniVision sensors, plus 3x and 10x periscope lenses, a multispectral sensor, and support for Hasselblad teleconverters.
There’s also a second zoom number to file away: 20x ”optical-quality” zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. That phrasing is doing a lot of work, as it always does, but the hardware list suggests Oppo is trying to make long-range photography the reason to buy this phone rather than just another spec sheet trophy.
- Front camera: 50 MP
- Rear cameras: 200 + 50 + 200 + 50 MP
- Periscope zoom: 3x and 10x
- Claimed zoom: 20x optical-quality, 120x digital
Find X9 Ultra display, battery and software
Outside the camera bump, Oppo is building the usual no-compromise flagship stack. The Find X9 Ultra is expected to ship with a 6.78-inch OLED display at 3168 x 1440 pixels and up to 144Hz refresh, powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The battery spec is eye-catching even by 2026 standards: 7050 mAh with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Add an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, and a body measuring 163.04 x 76.91 x 9.15 mm at 238 g, and you get the sort of phone that makes pockets do the math before customers do.
April 21 launch with Find X9s Pro
Oppo will unveil the Find X9 Ultra on 21 April at the OPPO x Hasselblad Imaging New Product Launch Conference, alongside the Find X9s Pro. The timing matters because the ultra-premium camera race has become a spring ritual: brands tease the lenses, claim victory over physics, and then let reviewers decide whether the zoom is genuinely useful or just impressive at arm’s length.
Ice Universe has a track record of getting early hardware details right on major phone launches, which is why this leak lands with more weight than the average social post. The remaining question is simpler: will Oppo’s extra zoom and bigger battery translate into a camera phone people actually want to carry every day, or just one that wins benchmark bragging rights?
