OnePlus is about to sell a very familiar accessory in China: a OnePlus 120W SuperVOOC power bank that looks like Oppo’s recent model, only dressed in ”Accelerated Red”. The pitch is straightforward – 15,000mAh of capacity, up to 120W output, and enough speed to push compatible Oppo and OnePlus phones at their maximum supported rates.

That reuse is the point. OnePlus has not posted the full specs of its version yet, but the hardware appears to be a straight rebrand of Oppo’s power bank, which is already up for pre-order in Oppo branding. In other words, the companies are doing the smart, slightly boring thing and spreading one product across two badges instead of spending money on two separate engineering efforts.

OnePlus 120W SuperVOOC power bank specs

If the leaked resemblance is accurate, buyers should expect the same core package Oppo describes:

  • 15,000mAh battery capacity
  • Up to 120W output
  • Support for compatible Oppo and OnePlus phones at their maximum supported charging speeds

The only obvious difference so far is color. Oppo sells its version in Star Orange and Space Black, while OnePlus is leaning into the brighter red treatment. That is a small move, but it fits a pattern we’ve seen across the accessory market: brands recycle the same charging hardware, then try to make the new badge feel like a fresh launch.

China’s power bank safety rules explain the timing

The more interesting part is why this accessory is arriving now. Oppo says its model complies with China’s upcoming power bank safety regulations, which become mandatory in April 2027, and those rules are aimed squarely at overheating, battery wear, and other hazards that have made high-capacity portable chargers a touchy category.

To get there, Oppo says the power bank has already been pushed through puncture resistance, compression, high-temperature endurance, and long-term aging tests. That’s the kind of checklist regulators tend to like, and it’s also a reminder that power banks are no longer just dumb batteries with USB ports attached.

Ice Shield technology and the OnePlus GaN charger

The device is also expected to use Oppo’s ”Ice Shield” battery technology, which is meant to improve safety and make battery health easier to monitor over time. There’s also talk of traceability features, so manufacturing details can be checked if needed – not glamorous, but useful in a category where trust is the whole product.

Oppo has also rolled out a compact dual-port 120W GaN charger, and OnePlus has its own version too. The accessories business has become a neat little mirror between the two brands: same charging tech, different paint, and just enough distinction to keep the shelves looking busy.

Price and availability for the OnePlus-branded power bank have not been announced yet. If OnePlus follows the Oppo playbook, expect the company to lean on speed and safety rather than trying to sell this as some radical new gadget. That would be the honest approach – which, in charger land, is rarer than it should be.
