ZTE has launched the Nubia Neo 5 Pro more than a month after its unveiling, making it available for pre-order in the Philippines and appearing on the brand’s global website. The Neo 5 GT and Neo 5 Max, positioned above it in the lineup, will arrive later.

The Nubia Neo 5 Pro slots below the GT and Max models and features a 6.8-inch 120Hz display, along with a 16MP front-facing camera. Its main camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Powering the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM. This CPU, also found in devices like the Motorola Edge 60 Neo and Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, runs eight cores and Mali-G615 MP2 graphics. To keep temperatures down, Nubia employs a 4083 mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

The battery capacity stands at a hefty 6000mAh, supporting fast wired charging at 80W along with bypass charging, which allows the phone to operate while charging to reduce battery wear.

The Nubia Neo 5 Pro pricing is as follows:

  • 128GB storage model: 14,999 Philippine pesos (about $249)
  • 256GB storage model: 17,999 Philippine pesos (roughly $299)

For context, Nubia operates under ZTE and typically targets budget and midrange segments, particularly in Asian markets. The Neo 5 Pro’s specs put it in competition with similarly priced phones from Xiaomi and Motorola, offering respectable performance for its class with a large battery and smooth 120Hz display. Unlike flagship devices from Apple or Samsung, it prioritizes battery life and cost efficiency over raw power or premium features.

As the Neo 5 GT and Neo 5 Max models roll out later, it will be worth watching how Nubia balances performance and price to carve out space in the increasingly crowded midrange smartphone field. The use of the Dimensity 7400 chipset is a smart move to maintain solid performance while keeping costs down, but Nubia’s success will hinge on delivering a polished user experience beyond just specs.
