Cosplayer Natasha Kochetkova, known online as Narga, perfectly captures the iconic Jill Valentine look from Resident Evil’s original 1996 S.T.A.R.S. outfit-complete with a clever nod to Barry Burton’s infamous sandwich. Photos were captured by Fekla Baklazhanova.
Who is Jill Valentine in Resident Evil?
Jill Valentine debuted in the 1996 classic Resident Evil as one of the game’s main protagonists alongside Chris Redfield. She’s an elite operative in Raccoon City’s special tactical police unit, S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service). Trained in bomb disposal during her time with the U.S. Army’s Delta Force, Jill combines tactical smarts with combat skills.

Her story kicks off in the infamous 1998 Arklay Mansion incident, where S.T.A.R.S. Team Alpha investigates missing operatives. Jill and Chris stumble upon Umbrella Corporation’s illegal bioweapons experiments. After authorities suppress the investigation, both agents find themselves cut loose and hunted in a city descending into chaos.
Months later, the Raccoon City outbreak erupts, forcing Jill to flee while pursued by Nemesis-a relentless Umbrella prototype engineered to eliminate surviving S.T.A.R.S. members. Jill escapes the doomed city, but most residents do not.

Later, Jill co-founded the BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) with Chris to combat bio-organic threats worldwide. In Resident Evil 5, she falls under the control of Albert Wesker, spending years as his weapon before breaking free.
Jill Valentine’s classic S.T.A.R.S. uniform cosplay

Jill’s signature look-a dark blue S.T.A.R.S. uniform topped with a blue beret and distinctive combat face paint-originates from the 2002 GameCube remake of the original game. Capcom rebuilt the character from scratch for that version, basing Jill’s appearance on Canadian model Julia Voth, whose facial features, body, and motion capture shaped the character for many fans.
Cosplaying Jill in the S.T.A.R.S. outfit is a litmus test for detail accuracy among fans. Narga’s recreation nails the look, from uniform patches to the iconic beret, while the Easter egg with Barry Burton’s sandwich adds a playful layer of character lore.
