Garmin has released a new beta firmware update, version 22.28, for several of its flagship smartwatches including the Enduro 3, Fenix 8, and Quatix 8. The update is currently being distributed to participants in Garmin’s testing program.
This latest beta addresses five notable bugs found in the previous 22.27 build:
- Fixed notification volume control issues
- Resolved crashes when using maps after connecting to Z10 or Z30 devices
- Corrected map screen disappearing after route recalculation
- Fixed seconds display on watch faces during color-change mode
- Restored English keyboard display for Wi-Fi password entry
Notably, diving and ECG functionalities remain disabled in this beta, indicating Garmin is continuing its rigorous testing before rolling out these features in a stable release.
The update is available now for all compatible devices. If it doesn’t install automatically, users can manually check for it by navigating to Settings > System > Software Update > Check for Updates on their watch.
