Vivo is gearing up to launch the X Fold 6 foldable smartphone worldwide after its global model, V2559, appeared in Indonesia’s SDPPI certification database. This marks the device’s first official nod outside China, where it is already known by name. Such certification usually signals an imminent launch rather than mere paperwork processing.

If the global unit mirrors the Chinese version, the Vivo X Fold 6 will be one of the most powerful foldable smartphones of the year. It features an 8.02-inch internal LTPO AMOLED display alongside a 6.53-inch external screen, both boasting a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 5,000 nits. Under the hood sits MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, with memory options up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

  • 7000mAh battery
  • 80W wired fast charging
  • 40W wireless charging
  • 200MP main camera
  • 50MP ZEISS APO periscope telephoto lens
  • 50MP ultrawide camera
  • IP58 and IP59 water and dust resistance

The phone runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, with a clear focus on multitasking optimized for the large foldable display. Internationally, Vivo faces stiff competition not only from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series but also from Honor’s Magic V lineup, which has aggressively expanded into global markets in recent years. That makes the timing of the global launch and availability in stores especially critical.

While Vivo has not announced an exact global release date, leaks from India indicate it might be pushed to October. If so, the Vivo X Fold 6 would enter the foldable flagship arena near year-end-several months after some rivals’ international versions have already been on shelves.

Vivo’s international debut with the X Fold 6 could shake up the competitive foldable smartphone scene, especially if it matches the specs seen in China. The key factor will be whether Vivo can reach global buyers quickly enough to challenge Samsung’s entrenched Galaxy Z Fold and Honor’s newly ambitious Magic V. Watching how the launch unfolds in key markets like Indonesia and India will provide early clues about how Vivo plans to stake its claim in the high-end foldable segment.
