iRobot has reintroduced a fresh lineup of Roomba robot vacuums in the US, unveiling five new models – all equipped with self-emptying docks. Four out of five are priced below $1,000, marking the brand’s effort to reclaim ground in a market where features like automatic dustbin emptying, LiDAR navigation, and wet mopping are already standard fare.
Among the new Roomba models, the Roomba Max 715 stands out at $700 as the only one without wet mopping. It features two main brushes designed to resist hair tangles, a single side brush, and a prominent sensor module on top, giving it a bulkier look compared to its siblings.
This launch is more than just a catalog refresh for iRobot. After its $1.4 billion deal with Amazon fell through in early 2024, the company faced layoffs and lost market share in a segment it originally helped define. The US rollout follows iRobot’s acquisition by Picea Robotics late last year – a partnership that already produced a previous wave of eight models.
All five new Roomba vacuums are available now on iRobot’s website. The big question is whether the brand’s self-emptying technology and polished lineup can help it regain market share from Chinese rivals like Roborock and Dreame, who have long pressured the segment on both price and features.
