Redmi has stepped into over-ear headphones for the first time, and it’s doing what Redmi usually does: piling on useful features, trimming the fluff, and keeping the price low. The new Redmi over-ear headphones launch in China alongside the Redmi K90 Ultra, with 42dB active noise cancellation, a 72-hour battery rating, and Hi-Res Audio certification aimed squarely at buyers who want more than earbuds without paying premium-brand money.

The formula is familiar because it works. In a market where Sony and Bose sell the luxury version of the same promise, budget brands have spent years trying to catch up on battery life and noise cancellation. Redmi’s pitch is simple: give people enough real-world performance to notice, then undercut the big names by a mile.

Redmi over-ear headphones specs and design

The headphones weigh around 263g and use protein leather ear cushions with slow-rebound foam. Foldable earcups, 110-degree rotation, and a 15-degree tilt should make them easier to wear for longer sessions, while the adjustable metal headband adds a bit of durability to the package.

Inside, Redmi fits 40mm titanium-plated dynamic drivers in an independent acoustic chamber. The company also says they support USB Audio playback at up to 96kHz/24-bit lossless quality, plus four preset EQ profiles and a 10-band custom equalizer. That’s a lot of tuning control for headphones at this price, and it hints at a product meant to do more than just cancel bus noise.

  • 40mm titanium-plated dynamic drivers
  • USB Audio up to 96kHz/24-bit
  • 42dB ANC with Deep, Balanced, and Light modes
  • 600mAh battery with up to 72 hours of playback
  • 10-minute charge for up to five hours of listening

Battery life, calls and HyperConnect features

Battery claims are where Redmi is trying hardest to stand out. A 600mAh cell rated for up to 72 hours puts it well beyond many mainstream wireless headphones on paper, though ANC and higher-volume listening will obviously shave that down. The quick-charge figure is handy too: 10 minutes plugged in for up to five hours of use is the sort of spec people remember when they’re already late.

For calls, Redmi adds a triple-microphone AI system with wind-noise reduction at speeds of up to 5m/s. Bluetooth, dual-device pairing, audio sharing, notification broadcast, and Xiaomi HyperConnect support are also on board, including precise device finding, quick pairing, and audio transfer between compatible devices.

Price and China availability

The Redmi over-ear headphones cost 349 Yuan in China, with a limited introductory price of 297 Yuan under local promotional offers. Color options are Jazz Blue, Symphony White, and Rock Black, and the headphones are already on sale through Xiaomi’s official channels in China.

There’s no word yet on global availability, which is classic Redmi: launch at home, test the waters, then decide whether the rest of the world gets the same bargain. If this follows the usual playbook, the real question is not whether the headphones are good enough for the price – it’s whether Redmi can keep them stocked if demand lands where the specs suggest it might.
