Oppo has pushed the Reno 16 line further down its stack with the Reno 16 FS, a Europe-only launch for now that borrows a lot of premium-adjacent hardware and trims the price to 649 euros. The pitch is straightforward: a 120 Hz AMOLED display, dual 50 MP cameras, IP68 protection, and a 6500 mAh battery in a midrange phone that still wants to sound serious.
That formula is becoming a familiar one across the Android middle class. Brands are leaning harder on battery size, fast charging, and camera counts because raw processor bragging rights are harder to sell than all-day endurance and water resistance peace of mind.
Reno 16 FS display and performance
The Reno 16 FS uses a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with a 2372 x 1080 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 1400 cd/m2, and 10-bit color support. Oppo has also placed an optical fingerprint scanner under the display, which is exactly where you would expect it and still nicer than digging around the back for a sensor like it is 2018.
Inside, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. MicroSD expansion is supported, and ColorOS 16 based on Android handles the software side.
Reno 16 FS camera setup and battery life
Oppo is clearly leaning on imaging here. The rear system combines a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization, an 8 MP ultrawide module, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with OIS, while the front camera also comes in at 50 MP and adds autofocus. Both the main and selfie cameras can record 4K video at 30 frames per second.
The 6500 mAh battery is one of the phone’s more obvious selling points, and 45 W SuperVOOC charging should keep downtime reasonable. Samsung and Xiaomi have both spent the last few years turning battery size into a headline feature in this price class, so Oppo is following a very live trend rather than inventing one.

- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy
- Memory: 8 GB RAM, 512 GB storage, microSD support
- Cameras: 50 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 50 MP telephoto, 50 MP front

Europe price and color options
For the European market, Oppo is selling the Reno 16 FS with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for 649 euros. Buyers get two finishes: Purple Black and Pop White. The phone also carries stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, eSIM, IP68 protection, a programmable Snap Key AI button, and compatibility with Oppo’s Bubble accessory.
The bigger question is whether Oppo can make this model stand out in a crowded midrange field where rivals are stuffing in bigger batteries and more capable cameras at the same time. If the Reno 16 FS turns up in India as the Reno 16c, it will face a market that is even less forgiving, which means the price will have to do a lot of the talking.
