Beijing Hyundai has rolled out the Tucson L 2026 in China, trimming the lineup from six trims to four while keeping the same familiar body, the same 200 hp 1.5-liter turbo engine, and an 8-speed automatic. Prices now run from 170 to 187 thousand yuan, which puts the updated Hyundai Tucson L 2026 in the thick of a very busy Chinese compact-SUV fight.

The move is less a full redesign than a tidy reshuffle: the brand has leaned on equipment upgrades, a simplified trim structure, and a few tech tweaks to keep the Tucson relevant without changing the hardware that already does the job. That is a sensible play in a market where rivals keep adding screens, driver aids, and sharper cabin gimmicks just to stay visible.

Hyundai Tucson L 2026 price and trim changes

The new model-year update cuts the number of versions from six to four, and the pricing lands between 170 and 187 thousand yuan, or 1.85 to 2.0 million rubles. Beijing Hyundai is clearly trying to make the range easier to understand, which is a polite way of saying the old lineup had probably become too messy for its own good.

  • Price range: 170,000 to 187,000 yuan
  • Approximate price in rubles: 1.85 million to 2.0 million
  • Trim count: four, down from six

Visually, the Tucson L keeps the big grille, integrated LED lights, and the rear lamps styled like eagle claws. Buyers can also get 18- or 19-inch wheels, while the N-Line version gets its own special treatment.

Two 12.3-inch screens or a simpler cabin layout

The biggest cabin change is the display setup. Depending on trim, the Tucson L 2026 gets either two joined 12.3-inch screens or a 12.3-inch central display paired with a 4-inch digital instrument panel.

Hyundai also kept physical buttons for key functions, which is refreshingly normal in a segment that often mistakes touch panels for progress. For buyers, that means the interior now feels more up to date without becoming a screen-only exercise in frustration.

Driver-assist equipment has been expanded too, with the list now including speed-limit warnings, speed-compliance monitoring, adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam support, and intelligent cruise control that uses navigation data.

Engine, dimensions and drivetrain

  • Engine: 1.5-liter turbocharged unit
  • Power: 147 kW (200 hp)
  • Transmission: 8-speed automatic
  • Drive: front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive
  • Size: 4670 × 1865 × 1690 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2755 mm

The mechanical package is unchanged, including McPherson front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. That should reassure existing Tucson buyers, but it also shows where Hyundai chose not to spend money: under the hood, this is the same recipe, just served with a cleaner menu.

In China, where Nissan, Toyota, and local brands keep pushing feature-rich crossovers at aggressive prices, that approach may be enough if the Tucson L’s equipment and badge carry the day. The open question is whether the simplified range and upgraded cabin are enough to keep it competitive once the novelty of the refresh wears off.
