Edifier has put a fairly busy spec sheet into a clip-on earbud: the new LolliClip SE launches at 499 yuan ($74), promises 40 hours of total battery life, and adds features you usually see in more expensive buds, including Dolby Spatial Audio, LHDC 5.0 support, and AI transcription tools. The result is an open-ear model aimed at people who want awareness, convenience, and a little less cable-era compromise.
The Edifier LolliClip SE also arrives in black and gold, which is a polite way of saying Edifier is trying to make clip-ons look less like sports gear and more like something you would actually wear in public. That matters because this category is getting crowded fast, with rivals leaning on bigger batteries, higher-quality codecs, and tougher water resistance to stand out.
Open-ear design with a pressure-free fit
Like other open-ear earbuds, the LolliClip SE does not seal your ear canal, so you can hear traffic, office chatter, or the person trying to get your attention three times before you notice. Edifier says the flexible bridge is shaped to spread pressure evenly across the ear rather than pinching cartilage, and the buds can automatically detect left and right placement through adaptive channel recognition.
Audio hardware is anchored by a 12mm dynamic driver with a dual-magnet setup and a composite diaphragm made from polyurethane and titanium-coated PET. Because open-ear designs usually give up some bass, Edifier adds a dynamic bass compensation algorithm to fill out the low end as much as the form factor allows.
Dolby Spatial Audio and high-resolution playback
This is Edifier’s first clip-on model with Dolby Spatial Audio, which is pitched as a wider, more theatrical soundstage for music, movies, and games. The earbuds also support LHDC 5.0 decoding at up to 990kbps and carry Hi-Res Audio Wireless and HWA certifications, so Edifier is clearly trying to argue that ”open-ear” does not have to mean ”budget sound.”

AI transcription joins the companion app
The software pitch is almost as packed as the hardware one. Through the Edifier Connect app, users get real-time translation for 21 languages, a basic AI assistant, and tools for recording, transcribing, and summarizing meetings. That puts the LolliClip SE in the same conversation as a growing wave of earbuds that are trying to do more than play audio, though the quality of those extras usually matters more than the marketing checklist.
The app also handles EQ, earbud tracking, and battery monitoring, while voice calls rely on a dual-microphone setup with noise reduction. Add an IP56 rating, and the LolliClip SE is built for sweat, dust, and the occasional rain shower rather than a full dunk in the sink.
Battery life and a crowded clip-on field
Edifier rates the earbuds at 10 hours on a single charge, with the case adding another 30 hours for a total of 40 hours. That is solid, but not record-breaking: Baseus recently pushed the Bowie MC2 to 55 hours, which suggests the clip-on category is now competing on stamina as much as sound quality and comfort.
The bigger question is whether buyers will pay for AI tools in a form factor that still looks niche to many users. Edifier is betting that convenience, awareness, and a few genuinely useful software tricks will make the LolliClip SE easier to justify than another plain old pair of earbuds.
