2K and Hangar 13 have announced the first story expansion for Mafia: The Old Country. Titled Man of Honor, the DLC will be available on August 14.
Man of Honor continues the saga of Enzo Favara, the game’s protagonist, adding two new story chapters and fresh content for the Free Ride mode.
The expansion is set in Sicily during the winter of 1905. After joining the Torrisi crime family, Enzo has proven himself a reliable soldier. Now the Don tasks him and Cesare with assisting Ennio Salieri-a man of honor recently released from prison and determined to reclaim what he’s lost.
Working alongside Salieri, Enzo delves deeper into the perilous underworld of Valle Dorata, where loyalty is tested, old scores are settled, and every choice carries weighty consequences.
The developers promise that these new chapters explore a previously unseen period in Enzo’s life, showcasing him at the peak of his career as a soldato. Players can also expect new locations, weapons, vehicles, and talismans.
The Free Ride mode gets a significant upgrade as well. Players will team up with Salieri to tackle a new series of challenging trials, unlocking exclusive collectibles and opening previously inaccessible map areas.
Mafia: The Old Country already received a major free update shortly after launch, expanding Free Ride with car and horse races, combat challenges, a first-person driving mode, a photo mode, a Classic difficulty setting, along with new weapons, vehicles, outfits, and other gear.
Man of Honor arrives amid a wave of story expansions for well-crafted single-player games, illustrating that narrative-driven experiences still hold strong appeal in a market dominated by multiplayer and live-service titles.
Looking ahead, how Hangar 13 balances these narrative expansions with ongoing quality-of-life updates and potential multiplayer additions could determine how Mafia: The Old Country sustains its community and relevance in a competitive genre.
