Xiaomi’s next big software push is shaping up to be a split affair: HyperOS 4 is expected to arrive alongside Android 17 for a long list of phones and tablets, but some older devices may still get the new skin without the full Android jump. That is the sort of update strategy Xiaomi has used before, and it means ”eligible” does not always mean ”everything is new.”

The company has not published an official compatibility list yet, so this roundup is based on device support policy rather than a formal announcement. Still, the line-up is broad enough to give Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO owners a decent idea of where they stand before the rollout starts later this year.

Xiaomi HyperOS 4 eligible devices

On the Xiaomi side, the expected Android 17 upgrade list includes the Xiaomi 17 family, Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi 14 Civi, Xiaomi 13T series, and the Xiaomi Mix Flip.

  • Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, 17T, 17T Pro
  • Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, 15T, 15T Pro
  • Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro, 14 Ultra, 14T, 14T Pro, 14 Civi
  • Xiaomi 13T, 13T Pro
  • Xiaomi Mix Flip

Redmi’s expected recipients are spread across several families, from Note to Pad. That usually signals Xiaomi is trying to keep the update story wide enough to cover premium devices and budget hardware at the same time, even if the cheaper models do not get every feature.

  • Redmi Note 15, 15 4G, 15 Pro, 15 Pro 4G, 15 Pro+, 15 Special
  • Redmi Note 14 4G, 14 Pro, 14 Pro+, 14S
  • Redmi Turbo 5
  • Redmi 15, 15 4G, 15C, 15C 4G, 15A
  • Redmi A7, A7 Pro, A7 Pro 4G, A5
  • Redmi Pad 2, Pad 2 Pro, Pad 2 9.7

POCO’s side of the list is just as crowded, which is good news for buyers who tend to keep these devices longer than the average mid-ranger. The brand has built its reputation on aggressive hardware for the money; a long software tail helps justify that pitch.

  • POCO F8 Pro, F8 Ultra, F7, F7 Pro, F7 Ultra, F6, F6 Pro
  • POCO X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max, X7, X7 Pro, X6 Pro
  • POCO M8, M8s, M8 Pro, M7 4G, M7 Plus
  • POCO C85, C85 4G, C85x, C81, C81 Pro, C81x, C71
  • POCO Pad X1, Pad M1, Pad C1

Android 17 is not the whole story

Even if a device does not qualify for Android 17, Xiaomi’s past update behavior suggests it may still receive HyperOS 4 with an older Android base. HyperOS 3.0 already reached some phones on Android 15, so the skin itself is not strictly tied to the newest platform release. The catch, of course, is that feature parity may not be perfect.

Xiaomi has also said, at least through the usual leak cycle and follow-up confirmations, that HyperOS 4 is due in July or August, with older devices starting to see it around October 2026. That staggered timing is classic Xiaomi: the newest flagships get the glory first, while everyone else waits for the software to crawl down the funnel.

HyperOS 4 rollout timing

The smart move here is to separate ”will update” from ”will get everything.” Xiaomi’s biggest challenge with HyperOS 4 will be keeping the experience consistent across premium phones, budget Redmi hardware, and POCO models that are often sold on specs rather than long-term software polish.

If the leaks about a bigger UI refresh and Leica-related camera changes prove accurate, the early adopters will get the flashy version first. Everyone else will be watching to see how much of that survives the trip to older devices.
