Acer is pushing further into urban mobility with two new vehicles built for everyday commuting: the Nitro eCity Plus e-bike and the ES Series 3 Select e-scooter. The hook is not just the hardware – it is the app integration, which now adds smartphone-based voice controls for checking battery status and switching lights without reaching for a screen.
Acer’s new e-bike and e-scooter are designed to stand out in a crowded commuter market by turning the eMobility app into a control center for ride features, security, and device settings.
Nitro eCity Plus e-bike features
The Nitro eCity Plus is the more flexible of the pair. Acer says it includes cargo-friendly configurations, multiple riding modes, responsive power delivery, and a removable battery, which should make it more practical for riders who need one bike to do a bit of everything. That kind of feature set is becoming table stakes for commuter e-bikes, but it is still the right direction for a brand trying to move beyond laptop lids.
The app also brings anti-theft notifications for the e-bike, sending alerts if the vehicle is moved without authorization. For a commuter bike, that matters more than flashy specs: if you leave it outside a station or office, security is part of the purchase, not an accessory.
ES Series 3 Select e-scooter security and design
The ES Series 3 Select takes the scooter route with a lightweight, foldable frame, optimized braking, lighting systems, and urban-focused performance. Acer is also using the app for a more aggressive security setup here: voice commands can trigger an electronic lock that sounds an alarm and disables the system if the scooter is moved illegally.
That is the kind of feature that sounds a little dramatic until you remember how often scooters disappear. Competitors have leaned on app locks and alarms for years, so Acer is catching up to a familiar expectation rather than inventing a new category trick – but voice activation gives it a small usability edge.
Acer eMobility app and availability
The Acer eMobility app now serves as a central hub for ride history, performance insights, and custom settings across Acer’s mobility lineup. In EMEA, the ES Series 3 Select arrives first in June 2026, with pricing starting at EUR 349. The Nitro eCity Plus follows in Taiwan in September 2026, starting at TWD 49,800.
That staggered rollout suggests Acer is testing demand in different regions with different products, which is a sensible way to enter a market dominated by specialists. The bigger question is whether riders want another tech brand in e-mobility, or just another scooter that does the basics well. Acer is betting that app-driven convenience – and a bit of voice control – is enough to make people care.
