Xiaomi has quietly pushed a new HyperOS update to several end-of-life phones from Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco. The update is meant to fix serious issues and improve system stability, even on models the company had already stopped supporting.

Which Xiaomi phones are getting the HyperOS update

The devices on the list are:

  • Xiaomi 11i
  • Xiaomi 12
  • Xiaomi 12 Pro
  • Redmi K60e
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro+
  • Poco F4
  • Poco F4 GT

For owners, that is better than the usual end-of-life farewell, where devices are left to age without another software patch.

Checking for it is straightforward: open ”Settings” and look for available updates. Xiaomi has done this before on discontinued hardware, and the pattern suggests the company still prefers to patch visible problems rather than let them linger on phones that are no longer part of its mainstream support plans.

Why this HyperOS update stands out

End-of-life status usually means the software tap is turned off, full stop. But vendors sometimes make exceptions when an issue is severe enough to affect stability or security, and that is where Xiaomi’s approach fits in. Samsung and Google have built stronger reputations for longer support windows, yet Xiaomi’s willingness to patch older models still beats the more cynical ”ship it and forget it” treatment many buyers fear.

The catch is that these updates are selective, not a promise of renewed long-term support. Still, for users holding onto a Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco handset from this batch, any fresh HyperOS build is a useful extra mile – and probably the last one worth expecting.
