Tecno is set to expand its Pop series with the new Pop X 5G smartphone, scheduled to launch on April 20. The device will debut in India and will be available exclusively through Amazon.in at launch.
While pricing details remain under wraps from both Tecno and Amazon, several key specs and color options have already surfaced.
The Pop X 5G packs a hefty 6500mAh battery paired with 45W fast charging support – features that put it in line with other budget and midrange phones emphasizing long battery life. Tecno hasn’t disclosed the chipset powering the device yet, but it will come in two RAM configurations: 4GB and 6GB.

The phone’s standout design feature is its camera module made from aerospace-grade aluminum (series 6 alloy), lending it a premium look and durability. Tecno also boasts an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810H certification, which assures ruggedness against shocks, temperature swings, and other environmental stressors.
Tecno highlights its USRP 3.0 technology, claiming it boosts network speeds by up to eight times. This should enhance streaming, downloads, and overall connection stability, potentially giving the Pop X 5G an edge in connectivity over similarly priced rivals.
For context, rivals like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung’s Galaxy A series also offer large batteries and fast charging, but Tecno’s combination of military-grade durability and connectivity tech could appeal to users prioritizing toughness and network performance on a budget.
The full spec sheet, official price, and availability details will be revealed on April 20 at the phone’s launch.
Tecno’s upcoming Pop X 5G underscores the increasing focus on battery capacity and durability in affordable smartphones. How well its USRP 3.0 speeds translate into everyday use will be key to watch, especially in comparison to global brands competing in emerging markets. This launch could shift expectations for what budget 5G phones can deliver in terms of connectivity and build quality.
