Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 Max, a cordless wet vacuum featuring powerful 28,000 Pa suction and steam cleaning at 160°C. Priced at 3,599 yuan (around $520), the device promises deep cleaning by combining steam, foam, and hot water to tackle tough stains on hard floors.

Unlike typical cordless vacuums, the Mijia Floor Scrubber 5 Max uses a three-stage cleaning system that sprays superheated steam, thick foam, and hot water to dissolve grease, sticky residues, and stubborn dirt. Its 160°C steam sanitizes surfaces while loosening grime, supported by a 300 W boiler that generates steam rapidly, eliminating wait times before cleaning.

The foam targets greasy spots, and the 90°C hot water softens sugary residues like juice or syrup, making the combination effective for a wide range of messes on sealed hard floors.

The vacuum is powered by a motor delivering up to 28,000 Pa suction pressure and a maximum power input of 168 AW. It features a roller brush designed to pick up both dry and wet debris, plus a shark-tooth scraper made from durable PPA material. Hair wrap prevention is handled by a four-layer protection system, beneficial for pet owners and households with long hair.

Cleaning along edges is enhanced by an infrared sensor-guided retractable mechanism that captures dirt stuck near walls, furniture legs, and cabinet edges. It can clean cracks as narrow as 11 mm, making it easier to reach tight spots that usually trap dust.

One standout feature is the self-cleaning mode. The vacuum uses boiling water at 100°C to rinse the roller brush and flush the dirty water channel, then dries the brush with hot air to prevent mold or odors from developing between uses. This type of maintenance automation is uncommon in cordless floor scrubbers.

Fueling the scrubber is a 6,300 mAh battery that delivers up to 70 minutes of runtime, enough to clean spaces up to 420 square meters on a single charge. The machine holds 1,000 ml of clean water and 700 ml of dirty water, supporting longer cleaning sessions without frequent refills.

The device integrates with Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect platform and the Mijia app, allowing users to adjust cleaning modes, monitor battery level, and control suction power remotely. A color LCD on the vacuum displays the current mode, notifications, and battery status for real-time feedback.

Xiaomi’s Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 Max enters a competitive category featuring corded steam mops and robot vacuums with mopping functions from brands like iRobot and Tineco. Its combination of ultra-hot steam cleaning, foam application, and strong suction offers a unique edge for those prioritizing deep floor sanitation without cables.

As cordless wet vacuums evolve, Xiaomi’s latest launch highlights the push toward multifunctional, autonomous floor care devices that blend power, precision, and hygiene. The key question now is whether Xiaomi can refine battery life and user convenience enough to challenge established players outside China-a market where cordless hybrids are still gaining momentum.
