Xiaomi has expanded its Mi Home ecosystem by integrating LG’s smart appliances, including washing machines, dryers, and refrigerators. These devices now support Xiaomi’s HyperSmart Connect technology and voice control via the Xiao Ai assistant, enhancing the convenience of managing household gadgets from one app. This addition strengthens Xiaomi’s smart home platform, which already includes Bosch and Siemens appliances.

This collaboration marks Xiaomi’s continued effort to unify multiple leading appliance brands under one digital control hub. Previously, the Mi Home platform incorporated a variety of Bosch and Siemens devices-ranging from refrigerators, washing and drying machines, to dishwashers and kitchen devices-and Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaners.

By adding LG products, Xiaomi strengthens its hold on smart home convenience, enabling users to monitor and operate major household appliances seamlessly with voice commands or through the app interface. This move also reflects Xiaomi’s strategic push to broaden its ecosystem beyond its own hardware, potentially increasing user engagement and platform stickiness.

  • Supported LG appliances: washing machines, dryers, refrigerators
  • Technology used: Xiaomi HyperSmart Connect and Xiao Ai voice assistant
  • Existing Mi Home ecosystem partners: Bosch, Siemens, Ecovacs

Integrating LG’s appliances creates a more competitive ecosystem platform that could challenge other smart home platforms like Samsung SmartThings or Apple HomeKit, which also offer multi-brand device support. Xiaomi’s approach leverages its strong presence in Asia and growing international footprint to attract more smart home users.
