Xiaomi has hit a major milestone in 2025, shipping over 8.5 million air conditioners and driving a 23.1% revenue surge in its smart large home appliances category. This spike is fueled by the company’s strategic expansion into smart, connected appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, all of which posted record sales volumes.

Xiaomi’s air conditioner shipments surged 24% year-over-year, outpacing refrigerators (2.8 million units, up 4%), and washing machines (2.3 million units, up 18%). The company’s diversified product line now spans from affordable wall-mounted units to sophisticated multi-split central air systems, leveraging aggressive pricing alongside advanced smart ecosystem integration to stand out in the competitive Chinese market.

Key to Xiaomi’s competitive edge is its integration with HyperOS Connect and the Mijia smart home platform. Consumers can control devices via their smartphones or XiaoAI voice assistants, and automation is enhanced through environmental sensors built into the units. Higher-end air conditioners even come equipped with millimeter-wave radar to detect presence and adjust airflow for optimal comfort-a feature uncommon in this price range.

The company has also boosted customer confidence by extending the Mijia air conditioner warranty to 10 years, covering labor, repairs, parts, and refrigerant refills. Production capacity increased dramatically with the Wuhan Smart Home Appliance Factory, boasting an annual output capability of 7 million units. This was crucial to managing demand, especially during Q2 2025, when shipments soared to 5.4 million units, up 60% year-on-year, capturing a 16% share of China’s online AC market.

Beyond China, Xiaomi has broadened its reach by rolling out smart home appliances in Europe’s major markets, including Spain, Germany, France, and Italy. Plans are underway to tap into India’s air conditioning market later this year, reflecting Xiaomi’s ambitions to become a global leader in smart home climate control amid rising demand worldwide.
