The enduring cult hit The Wolf Among Us is set to return in an upgraded form, with plans for a remaster alongside the long-awaited sequel. The new developer for The Wolf Among Us 2 has been revealed as Trick Studio, joining Telltale Games in the sequel’s revival. This updated development effort is aiming for a 2026 reveal ahead of a planned 2027 launch.

According to sources close to Press Over and confirmed by MP1st’s investigative work, the American studio Trick Studio-founded by Argentinians and previously assisting with The Expanse: A Telltale Series-has joined Telltale in developing the sequel’s revival. Photographs from Trick Studio’s offices, uncovered by journalists, show them actively working on a remastered version of the original The Wolf Among Us game, with in-game menus and familiar locations visible on screens. The studio’s website also revealed projects involving The Wolf Among Us, including a direct port of the first game scheduled through at least March 2025.

Since Telltale’s last public update in late 2024, it appears the sequel’s development was restarted from scratch. The renewed effort targets a multi-platform release covering PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Fans can expect episodic storytelling set in a wintry New York, continuing the tale just six months after the original’s finale.

This step to remaster the original while relaunching the sequel is a wise move, restoring confidence in a franchise that’s had a rocky road. It’s also a smart way to attract new players and refresh interest before the sequel’s debut. Although the 2027 release might test patience, continuing Telltale’s signature episodic format and undergoing two fresh development cycles could lead to a higher-quality experience.
