Tecno is gearing up to launch the Camon Slim, a new slender 5G smartphone following last year’s Spark Slim and Pova Slim models. The device has cleared Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) certification, revealing it supports 5G and carries the model number CN6.

The CN6 identifier was also spotted on Geekbench, where the phone scored 997 points in single-core and 2,950 in multi-core benchmarks. This performance matches a device powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The test unit reportedly runs Android 16 out of the box.

Tecno Camon Slim 5G certification record

With the Dimensity 7100 – a midrange 5G chipset rather than a flagship processor – the Camon Slim is not targeting the premium segment. Still, it’s expected to offer a step up over Tecno’s earlier slim models, potentially balancing performance and sleek design. As the name implies, the phone will emphasize a thin form factor, catering to users looking for something lightweight and stylish.

Tecno’s presence in the budget to midrange smartphone market is strong across Africa, South Asia, and parts of Eastern Europe, often offering phones with large batteries and competitive specs at aggressive prices. The Camon Slim’s Dimensity 7100 chipset puts it in line with offerings from brands like Xiaomi and Realme, which have popularized this SoC for its balance of efficiency and performance.

Details like screen size, camera specs, and battery capacity remain under wraps. However, it is worth watching whether Tecno can carve out space for a thin 5G phone in a market dominated by thicker devices packing larger batteries – especially as Android 16 adoption signals a more up-to-date user experience out of the box.

Expect more information to surface soon as Tecno prepares for an official Camon Slim launch. Keeping an eye on how it stacks up against fresh Android 16 contenders from global players will be key to understanding its appeal beyond Tecno’s established regions.
