TCL has officially introduced the Q9M Pro SQD-Mini LED TV series in China, spanning five screen sizes from 55 to 98 inches. Pricing begins at 6,199 yuan ($900) for the 55-inch variant and climbs to 19,999 yuan ($2,904) for the 98-inch model. This lineup boasts a suite of enhancements aimed at delivering vibrant visuals with Mini LED technology.

The Q9M Pro utilizes TCL’s new SQD-Mini LED architecture, which separates itself from standard Mini LED displays by featuring a more refined backlight system with up to 3,552 local dimming zones. This granular control produces deeper contrast and superior light management. Additionally, the panel covers the full 100% BT.2020 color gamut, promising vibrant, true-to-life colors and a peak brightness soaring to 5,000 nits enhanced by XDR (Extreme Dynamic Range) technology. TCL also incorporates its Butterfly Wing Starlight design with HVA 2.0 panel technology, reducing glare through dual-layer low-reflection coatings and allowing consistent image quality across a wide 178-degree viewing angle.

The TV offers native 4K resolution combined with a rapid 150Hz refresh rate and supports frame rates up to 300Hz, making it attractive for both gamers and cinephiles craving smooth motion. TCL’s proprietary TSR AI picture engine further enhances viewing by upscaling lower-resolution content close to 4K, sharpening detail while minimizing noise and boosting color fidelity. Thanks to 26-bit dynamic backlight control, brightness transitions appear fluid with elevated shadow distinction.

On the audio front, the Q9M Pro comes equipped with a 2.1.2-channel Onkyo sound system that includes upward-firing speakers and a built-in subwoofer, providing immersive surround sound with greater clarity and dynamic range. The TV supports modern connectivity standards with four HDMI 2.1 ports, USB 3.0 and 2.0, LAN, AV inputs, and optical output, paired with Wi-Fi 6 for fast network access. Inside, 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage enable smooth operation under the Lingkong UI 3.0 platform, which offers ad-free booting, tailored smart recommendations, and multi-user profiles.

The sleek design boasts a slender 60mm thickness, facilitating wall mounting with an ultra-thin solution complemented by built-in cable management to keep installations neat. Alongside the Q9M Pro, TCL has also revealed the T7M Ultra SQD-Mini LED model, featuring a similar 4K 150Hz panel but with peak brightness capped at 3,000 nits and augmented Dolby Atmos sound. TCL’s efforts position it to compete firmly in the premium TV segment, particularly against Samsung’s Neo QLED and LG’s QNED offerings, both of which emphasize brightness and color precision.
