If you want a Samsung foldable without paying flagship money, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the obvious target right now. Woot is selling the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 for $550, down from its $1,100 launch price and a much cleaner option than the usual refurbished listings floating around online.
The timing is a little awkward for Samsung, because the company already replaced this model in spirit with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. That makes the Z Flip 6 feel less like yesterday’s news and more like a smart clearance pick: same compact clamshell appeal, better price, and enough hardware to stay relevant for years.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 hardware and software
The Z Flip 6 still looks like the sweet spot in Samsung’s flip-phone formula. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, pairs 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, and uses a 6.7-inch main AMOLED display alongside a 3.4-inch cover AMOLED screen. That outer panel is the real party trick: it can handle Galaxy AI features, widgets, and suggested replies without forcing you to open the phone every five minutes.
Samsung also promised seven years of updates from the phone’s initial release, which pushes support through 2031. For a foldable, that matters more than usual. These devices are still pricier to repair than slab phones, so getting a long software runway helps make the math less painful.
What you get for $550
- 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED folding display
- 3.4-inch AMOLED cover screen
- 4,000mAh battery
- 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging
- 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, 10MP front camera
- IP48 rating and USB-C
There are compromises, because of course there are. The cameras are good rather than exciting, and 25W wired charging feels modest next to some Chinese rivals that sprint past Samsung here. But the phone is fast in use, the 187g weight keeps it manageable, and the foldable design still gives it an edge if you want something compact that doesn’t look like every other rectangle in your pocket.
How long this deal should last
At this price, the Z Flip 6 is aimed squarely at buyers who want a new Samsung foldable and do not want to gamble on a used one. The catch is obvious: deals like this tend to disappear quickly, and Samsung’s own newer models make the old one easier to discount. If you want the cheapest new entry into Samsung’s foldable lineup, this is probably the move. If you wait too long, you’ll be back to scrolling refurbished listings and pretending that counts as fun.
