Samsung isn’t finished expanding its Galaxy S26 lineup just yet. Alongside the recently launched Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, the company is reportedly developing a Galaxy S26 Fan Edition (FE), marking the fourth addition to its flagship series. This new model, along with two mid-range devices, the Galaxy M47 5G and Galaxy F70 Pro 5G, has appeared in recent GSMA database listings, hinting at Samsung’s intent to broaden its portfolio across price tiers.

The Galaxy S26 FE, identified by the model number SM-S741B/DS, is expected to follow the same release window as its predecessor, likely debuting around September. Unlike past Fan Editions which primarily used Samsung Display panels, a report suggests the S26 FE might source its display from China’s CSOT. This subtle but notable shift in component sourcing could impact cost and supply chain dynamics. However, official details remain sparse at this stage.

Pricing for the Galaxy S26 Fan Edition is also drawing attention. Given Samsung’s recent price hikes for the S26 and S26 Plus, the Fan Edition is anticipated to cost at least $50 more than last year’s $650 starting price, potentially launching at around $700. This pricing places it close to flagship contenders like the iPhone 17 and Pixel 10, each priced at $799, blurring the line between mid-tier and premium devices and testing buyer thresholds.

Meanwhile, Samsung is also preparing to release the Galaxy M47 5G and Galaxy F70 Pro 5G, targeting mid-range consumers. The M47 will revive the M4x series nearly a year after the last model, which had an outdated chipset and was restricted to South Korea. The F70 Pro is particularly interesting as the company’s first Pro-branded F-series device, suggesting enhanced features and better specs than its predecessors. Market availability may be limited to select South Asian regions.

Galaxy S26 Fan Edition release date and pricing

The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to debut around September, matching the release window of the previous Fan Edition. Here is the anticipated pricing for the new models:

  • Galaxy S26 Fan Edition: starting at approximately $700
  • Previous Galaxy S25 Fan Edition: started at $650
  • iPhone 17 and Pixel 10: priced at $799

Galaxy M47 5G and F70 Pro 5G mid-range features and availability

The Galaxy M47 5G will bring new life to the M4x series, while the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G, Samsung’s first Pro-branded F-series device, is expected to offer enhanced capabilities. Both target different segments within the mid-range market. Availability of the F70 Pro may be limited to select South Asian countries.

Samsung’s strategy for mid-range and flagship segment growth

Samsung’s increased focus on mid-tier variants reflects a broader industry trend where budget-conscious buyers drive demand amid inflationary pressures and rising flagship prices. By offering more options below the flagship tier, Samsung hopes to maintain volume and appeal. Yet, balancing pricing without cannibalizing its premium lineup will be crucial moving forward.

The Galaxy S26 FE and the mid-range M47 and F70 Pro models indicate Samsung’s evolving strategy for this year, aiming to cover a wider market spectrum while navigating component sourcing and pricing challenges. More concrete specs and launch details are expected as the year progresses, especially to see if the FE model can truly capture the essence of Samsung’s ”flagship-lite” approach without exceeding budget limits.
