Poco is gearing up to launch its new Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max smartphones on March 17. Ahead of the official debut, the brand has been steadily revealing key specs of the upcoming devices, including battery capacities and charging capabilities.
The Poco X8 Pro will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, while the higher-end X8 Pro Max boosts performance with the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500+ processor, Poco previously confirmed.
Battery details have now emerged. The standard Poco X8 Pro sports a 6500mAh battery paired with fast wired charging rated at a swift 100W.

The Poco X8 Pro Max offers larger battery options with regional variations:
- Some markets: 8500mAh battery
- India and select markets: 9000mAh battery
Both variants support 100W fast charging for rapid top-ups.
Additionally, the X8 Pro Max supports 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to function as a power bank for other devices-a feature rarely found at this price point.
Poco also confirmed a special Iron Man Edition of the X8 Pro, following the footsteps of a limited Poco X7 Pro version launched last year in the same theme.
Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max battery and charging features
Compared to competitors, Xiaomi’s global brands like Redmi and the standard Poco lineup often focus on solid performance and fast charging, but battery sizes approaching 9000mAh remain uncommon among mainstream rivals such as Samsung and OnePlus. The inclusion of 27W reverse charging on the X8 Pro Max adds notable utility for users needing on-the-go power sharing.
Upcoming launch and Poco’s strategic approach
As Poco prepares to unveil these models on March 17, the key challenge will be balancing battery life, charging speed, and pricing in the fiercely competitive midrange segment that increasingly demands high-capacity batteries and fast top-up times. The Iron Man Edition also highlights Poco’s strategy to leverage fandom and limited editions to differentiate its offerings.
