OnePlus is pushing a fresh OxygenOS update to the OnePlus Pad, and this OnePlus Pad update does more than quietly patch holes. The 16.0.5.700 build adds better multitasking, small but useful file-handling tweaks, and the April 2026 Android security patch, all in a staged rollout across India, Europe, global markets, and North America.

The build number is OPD2203_16.0.5.700(EX01), and the update is limited to devices already on OxygenOS 16. That means anyone still on OxygenOS 15 has to make the jump first, which is a slightly annoying but familiar bit of Android housekeeping.

OnePlus Pad multitasking update adds timers and app clones

The headline feature is simple: multiple timers can now run at once. That sounds minor until you actually try to juggle cooking, work breaks, or a meeting countdown on a tablet, which is exactly the kind of low-friction upgrade that makes software feel more polished. Timers also now show estimated stop times, so there is less guessing and fewer screens to babysit.

OnePlus is also tweaking the Content Portal so it supports app clones, which should make sharing between duplicated apps easier. In Drawer mode, app organization gets new ”Office” and ”Finance” categories, a small change that should shave a few taps off the hunt for the right app.

Private Safe gets easier to use

Privacy tools are getting a practical upgrade too. Private Safe now supports browsing files with a side slider, searching within folders, and direct sharing of stored files. That is the sort of feature set users usually ask for after they have already buried something important in a secure folder and then regretted the abstraction.

Connectivity gets one new control as well: ”Automatically open received files” can now be switched on or off, giving users more say over what happens when files arrive. It is a modest addition, but a sensible one as tablets keep drifting closer to lightweight productivity machines.

April 2026 security patch rollout is gradual

The security side of the update is straightforward: it brings in the April 2026 Android security patch to address known vulnerabilities. OnePlus says the OTA is rolling out in batches, so not every OnePlus Pad will see it immediately. That cautious approach is standard now; Samsung and Google both do the same thing on major device updates, because a staggered release makes post-launch problems easier to contain.

If your Pad is already on OxygenOS 16, this should arrive over the next few days. If not, you are waiting for the earlier upgrade first – the software equivalent of being told to stand in the other line.
