Motorola is gearing up to unveil the Edge 70 Fusion+ alongside its standard sibling at MWC 2026, and the new leaks reveal it won’t just be a modest refresh. This ”Plus” version appears to be a clear attempt to punch above its weight in the midrange segment with a strong emphasis on photography and endurance.

The Edge 70 Fusion+ stands out with its large 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen boasting a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate-specs that appeal to gamers and binge-watchers alike. It’s toughened by Gorilla Glass 7i and flaunts IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance certifications, which are still somewhat rare for phones in this price category.

However, it’s the camera arrangement where Motorola seems to be doubling down. Rather than the typical combo of mid-tier sensors, the Fusion+ reportedly features a trio of 50MP cameras: a selfie shooter, a primary rear lens, and an ultra-wide angle. This contrasts sharply with the standard Edge 70 Fusion’s more modest 32MP front camera and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, suggesting Motorola wants to lure photo enthusiasts without going full flagship.

Battery life also gets a significant boost, moving up to a substantial 7,000mAh cell complemented by 68W fast charging. This positions the device to compete strongly against rivals known for endurance, like Samsung’s Galaxy M series and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note line, which have built reputations on large batteries and quick charging but often compromise on camera quality.

Performance details remain somewhat hazy. The base Edge 70 Fusion is set to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, coupled with Android 16, and although Motorola has begun Android 17 beta testing, the Plus variant’s chipset and software setup haven’t been confirmed publicly. Given the hardware upgrades, one might expect a slightly beefier processor or at least a tuned experience.

Design touches like the nylon- and linen-inspired rear panel provide a textured, premium feel and come in a variety of Pantone Blue Surf, Orient Blue, Sporting Green, and Silhouette colorways, keeping things fresh and distinctive without going overboard.

With pricing still under wraps and the launch just weeks away, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ could shake up the mid-tier market if it delivers on its promising specs. While manufacturers like Samsung and Xiaomi continue doling out similar midrange heavyweights, Motorola’s focus on a balanced package of display, cameras, and battery endurance might tip the scales for users seeking value and versatility.

Still, the competition is fierce. Brands such as Realme and OnePlus have also championed aggressive specs and solid camera systems at this price point. Mobile buyers will want to compare these impending releases before making decisions. Motorola’s success here will likely hinge not just on specifications but on real-world performance and pricing strategy once the full details emerge at MWC.
