Motorola has expanded its Edge 70 lineup with the launch of the Edge 70 Fusion+ 5G, a new model that builds on earlier additions this year, including the Edge 70 Fusion introduced just weeks ago and the Edge 70 from October 2023.

The Edge 70 Fusion+ 5G is currently listed on Motorola’s official website in Brazil, with no confirmed release dates for other regions. Industry watchers anticipate a rollout across additional South American markets soon. Motorola also notes that specifications for the Edge 70 Fusion series vary by region; for example, the Indian variant already differs from versions sold elsewhere.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ 5G camera setup

The standout feature on the Edge 70 Fusion+ is its camera array: it packs three 50-megapixel sensors. The main shooter uses a Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a front-facing 50MP selfie camera. For telephoto shots, there’s an additional 10MP telephoto lens offering optical zoom.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 performance and memory

Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, supported by 12GB of RAM. Motorola’s Intelligent RAM Boost technology is designed to optimize multitasking performance. Storage clocks in at 256GB, offering ample space for apps and media.

Durability and advanced display features

The phone boasts military-grade durability, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance-this means it can handle submersion and high-pressure water jets. The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added protection.

Motorola calls its screen design ”Quad Curve,” marking it as the first of its kind in this segment. The panel supports a blazing-fast 144Hz refresh rate, comes with Pantone certification for accurate colors, and can reach peak brightness levels up to 5200 nits, making it very capable in bright outdoor conditions.

Battery capacity and fast charging

Inside, there’s a 5200mAh battery with 68W fast charging via Motorola’s TurboPower technology. Motorola claims that just 10 minutes of charging can deliver enough power to last an entire day.

Price and availability

In Brazil, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ 5G is priced at 2,969 Brazilian reais-roughly $570 USD. The version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is offered in two colors:

  • Pantone Blue Surf
  • Orient Blue

Motorola’s Edge 70 Fusion+ sits competitively within the midrange 5G segment, offering features like a high-refresh-rate curved display and advanced camera hardware that rival what you’d find in recent OnePlus or Samsung A-series devices. Regional variants and pricing will be key to how well it performs internationally, especially against more established brands in major markets.

As Motorola continues to fine-tune its lineup, watch for how the Edge 70 Fusion+ and its siblings adapt to global markets with tailored specs and pricing-a strategy that could either broaden its appeal or fragment the brand’s identity in the crowded mid-tier smartphone arena.
