Samsung’s next book-style foldable may dodge the price bump many people were expecting. A new leak claims the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will arrive in the US with the same three storage tiers as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the same sticker prices, even though the next model is also tipped to get design and hardware upgrades.

That would put the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at $1,999 for 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, $2,199 for 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and $2,499 for 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. In other words, Samsung may be absorbing at least some of the pain from rising memory costs instead of passing it straight to buyers, which is a nice change from the usual ”new model, higher bill” routine.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 leaked US prices

The pricing claim comes from @TheGalox_ on X. If accurate, the base and mid-tier models would match the Galaxy Z Fold 7 exactly, while the top-end 1TB version would also stay put at $2,499.

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: $1,999
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: $2,199
  • 16GB RAM + 1TB storage: $2,499

Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch expected in July 2026

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to launch in July 2026, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Samsung is also rumored to be working on a new Galaxy Z Wide Fold, which would join the lineup as a separate device aimed at Apple’s rumored iPhone Fold.

That broader foldable push matters because Samsung’s biggest rival in this category has not even shipped a book-style foldable yet, so holding the Fold 8’s price would be a clean way to defend the high end without asking customers to pay more for the privilege.

Why a flat price would help Samsung

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to improve on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s design and specifications, but premium foldables have been expensive enough for long enough that even small price moves can change buying behavior. Keeping the launch prices unchanged would make the new model easier to sell, especially if Samsung can also point to better hardware rather than a bigger number on the receipt.

The open question is whether Samsung can keep that line across markets or whether this leak is US-only. Either way, a Fold that does not get more expensive is the sort of rumor that makes people pay attention twice.
