Belgian projection and visualization equipment maker Barco announced plans to acquire VerVent Audio Holding, the French parent company of premium audio brands Focal and Naim. The deal, valued at €135 million, was made public on March 9, 2026, signaling Barco’s strategic push into the high-end audiovisual market.
Barco’s CEO An Steegen indicated the acquisition aims to deepen the company’s integrated audiovisual offerings by combining advanced video technology with premium audio solutions. With the global market for high-fidelity audio, audiophile gear, and luxury home theater systems estimated at over €3 billion, Barco sees significant growth opportunities in upscale sound products.

The transaction is nearing completion, pending final consultations and formalities. Once finalized, VerVent will be absorbed into Barco’s Entertainment division. VerVent’s portfolio includes high-end loudspeakers, studio monitors, immersive sound systems, headphones, and bespoke installations for residential cinemas, automobiles, and yachts. Their retail presence spans more than 80 boutique stores and thousands of sales outlets worldwide.

Barco’s 2025 financial results showed revenues of €963.8 million, with the Entertainment division generating €466.8 million-an 11% increase year-on-year. The company plans to retain VerVent’s premium market positioning, optimize product lines, leverage its sales network, and enhance its portfolio with connected and active audio systems. This reflects broader industry trends toward smart, integrated home entertainment setups.
