AppleCare One, Apple’s subscription plan that covers multiple devices under a single monthly fee, might soon become available in Europe. The company recently registered the AppleCare One trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), signaling potential expansion beyond the US market where it launched in July 2023.

Currently priced starting at $19.99 per month in the United States, AppleCare One allows customers to cover up to three Apple devices with an option to add more at $5.99 each monthly. Beyond the standard AppleCare+ benefits like unlimited accidental repairs, priority support, and battery coverage, AppleCare One introduces impressive flexibility-subscribers may add products up to four years old and can swap devices covered at any time. This is a notable departure from the usual 60-day purchase window tied to traditional AppleCare+ plans.

AppleCare One also extends theft and loss protection to iPads and Apple Watches for the first time, previously limited only to iPhones. Additionally, when a device on the plan is traded in for a new model, coverage automatically transfers, simplifying the upgrade process. According to Apple’s own calculations, customers insuring an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together save up to $11 per month compared to separate AppleCare+ plans-though it is unclear if these savings will replicate in European pricing.

The EUIPO’s acceptance and examiner assignment of the AppleCare One trademark application don’t guarantee an imminent launch, but historically Apple trademarks precede service rollouts in new regions. With Apple increasingly unified in its approach to device protection globally, this move could mark the start of more integrated subscription services across international markets, challenging traditional single-device coverage norms.
