Xiaomi has unveiled the Bluetooth Remote 2 Pro in China, a minimalist TV remote featuring NFC for one-touch casting of your smartphone screen to your TV.
The standout feature is NFC-based screen mirroring-just tap your phone on the remote to instantly project your display onto the TV. While many smart TVs and streaming devices already offer casting, Xiaomi aims to streamline the process, cutting out complicated menus and extra steps.
The Bluetooth Remote 2 Pro sports a simple design with only essential buttons, plus a dedicated AI-powered voice assistant key for hands-free control of your entertainment setup.

Another handy addition is a customizable button that users can program for quick actions like switching input sources-a useful feature for setups juggling multiple devices.
Power comes from a 300mAh rechargeable battery charging via USB-C. Connectivity relies on Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring a stable link. Xiaomi says the remote will work seamlessly with Xiaomi and Redmi TVs and streaming boxes.
The Xiaomi Bluetooth Remote 2 Pro is priced at 99 Chinese yuan (about $14). There’s no word yet on an international release.
This remote highlights Xiaomi’s effort to simplify smart TV interactions in a market crowded with increasingly complex interfaces. For comparison, Apple TV remotes focus heavily on Siri voice control and touch surfaces, while Google’s Chromecast casting usually requires phone app navigation. Xiaomi’s NFC shortcut aims to remove friction entirely, which could appeal to users tired of juggling menus and settings.
As smart TVs and streaming devices continue adopting diverse control schemes-voice, apps, gesture-Xiaomi’s approach emphasizes straightforward physical interaction. It is unclear if this will resonate beyond the Chinese market or if NFC casting will begin appearing on remotes from other brands.
